Fear 08 – Take on a dancing class

What's the challenge?

To take up a dance and not feeling stupid about it.

What are you afraid of?

I considered myself as someone that is pretty stiff in terms of moving my body. Not on my face, I know but ya my body is quite inflexible.  So, naturally I'm afraid of looking noob and stupid infront of people...

How was the experience?

Been wanting to take up a dancing class but not sure which one exactly. I've even talked to my colleague about it but I did not take any action. Lazy, procrastinate, deep down feeling paiseh and embarrassing to dance a proper dance infront of people. I guess talk is cheap. Time to act on it, finally.

Why Popping thou? I always wonder how do they do the pop moment, jerky moment, how do they 'separate' their body into individual part and more importantly, I love beats. So I decided and chose Popping.

While waiting for the class to begin, I started to feel a little butterfly in my stomach. Ganjiong for what I don't know. Plus, seeing so many dancers that actually wearing appropriate cool looking attires made me feel even worse lol! Also got to peek other class students and they dance like easy pie..... (butterfly x 3)

But, luckily the teacher is very down to earth and always with a wide smile when he teaches and talks. He has great patience (thank god) too!  He made the entire class enjoyable and fun. I was told that I'm quite lucky to join the first class that day because most of the students were away for holiday due to short week / public holiday. *Phewwwwwww But, I was still sweating for most of the time (you probably can see me kept wiping off my sweats in the video).

In subsequent classes, the fear is not as intense as first class but still feeling  embarrassing when teacher asked to do solo dance infront of others. Came to think about it again, I think that's a good approach to boost our confidence in a way actually. So few more times, I should be immune to do so heh? Hahaha
