Fear 09 – Flying fox for the first time! (MegaZip Sentosa)

What's the challenge?

To take on the MegaZip flying fox, that spans 450m (1480 ft), 75 metres (246 ft) above ground level and you fly at 60kph over the jungle and beaches of the Island.

What are you afraid of?

3 combos of fear: Fear of height, fear of falling and... fear of water (as it flies above and over the sea too😭😭😭.

How was the experience?

For someone like me that equips 3 fears for this adventure, I actually ponder for quite a longggg time to finally book the ticket.

I went on a Sunday noon and expected long queue as it was weekend. To my surprise, there was not much crowd! Probably due to the rain in the morning and cloudy weather. To me, it was perfect la as it's not hot but still... I sweat like nobody business LOL.

The redeem ticket process was fairly easy and wearing the harness equipments were pretty fast too. We then hopped onto a buggy service to send us up to Imbiah hill. Side note: The staffs were attentive and service with a smile for most of the time. That made us feel not-so-ganjiong (at least).👏

Believe it or not, I stood and sat at the platform waiting area for more than an hour plus... Not because there's a long queue. But, just to prep myself "I can do it / I'll be fine" after I got terrified and failed the MegaJump. MegaJump is terribly scary shit as it requires yourself to make that leap. Quite similarly to bungee jump but MegaJump is freefall from 15m (about 5 stories apparently). I guess I had to re-visit this next time😥

So yes, it actually took me that an hour plus to be mentally 'ready' again and for MegaZip next LOL. I even counted I had about 6/ 7 cups of water there before I finally joined back the 'queue'... Randomly, because I went alone so the staffs allowed me to join 'express-lane' a.k.a cut queue to fill in one empty slot with other strangers (two Koreans if I'm not mistaken, one oppa  and one ojuma).  Blood pressure instantly shot up! So tips: if you go alone you probably don't need to buy the express pass.💃

The moment you were 'thrown' out of the gate and the staffs pulled the trigger (secretly for my case which idk why)... was the scariest part of all. It was the plunge moment and speeding momentum thing that I couldn't control of scared the hell outta me. But, rest assured and thank god, that moment doesn't last long.

And.....For god sake, the entire on-air time actually took about less than a minute! It's best if you can turn yourself to facing front instead of turning round and round, that view gonna looks spectacular and stunning especially sunset (well, I didn't get to see sunset la but can also google see images ma right :P ). Tips: Long hair people, tie your hair up or else you see nothing but only black strings all over your face. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The rest... is history.

Although this may seem nahhhh small-matter-niaaa to most of you... To those who know I have got a terrible fear of height and water, you know this is a huge huge huge step for me where I did not even complete flying fox activity back then in school camping 🤫.

Till then... I'VE KILLED ONE MORE!🤟🤟 🤟
